optoChargeCom - in development (available approx. 3rd quarter 2025)

optoCharger setup

The optoChargeCom system is a bidirectional optical transmission device that transmits communication data between an Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (= EVSE), i.e. charging Station, and an Electric Vehicle (= EV). It consists of two battery supplied devices that are connected to each other via an optical fiber.

With the optical transmission and the shielded case, this system is suitable for the high requirements during automotive EMI and EME tests (for example CISPR 25 Class 5).

Please note: Not all charging standards and addional features are implemented yet.

In April 2025, we have successfully done several bring ups and first EMC tests (besides the standard test with our Vector test system) with the CP transmission in real life (CHademo and GB/T are still undergoing bring up as real test samples currently are missing).

Burst and surge test with up to 1kV as well as conducted emissions tests (CISPR 16) showed satisfying results and our prototype will now undergo a further travel to other test labs to prove its functionality.
