mk-motion Motion Detection Software of mk-messtechnik GmbH

mk-motion licence #20 - Combiner

The combiner module opens up a whole new class of supervision tasks by offering the possibilty to combine the outputs of the ROIs (= Region of Interest) into derived output values. Just like the processing pipelines, the combiner is very flexible and can be defined by connecting different blocks in a graphical UI. There are blocks for logical operations (AND, OR, ...), arithmetic (sum, magnitude, negation, ...), comparison and timing.

The Combiner allows advanced analysis scenarios by combining the output of multiple detectors into new “virtual” detectors. The combination can be defined in a separate window which can be opened by clicking the combiner icon in the menu bar’s window section.
The combiner window consist of a menu bar at the top and the main combiner canvas, on which the combination network can be defined (see picture below). A combination network consists of three basic components: blocks, ports and connections.

Connections are lines from one port to another and represent data flow. Connections can only be established between ports of the same data type and different directions (one input, one output). It is possible, that an output port is connected to multiple inputs, however an input port can only be connected to exactly one output port.
