mk-motion - Hardware requirements

What hardware is needed to run the mk-motion?
mk-motion runs on standard computer hardware and only requires an HDMI grabber card with the desired number of channels
- grabber card
- free PCIe slot for the grabber card
- CUDA-enabled GPU + Encoding - min. 2 slots necessary on the mainboard
- separate 6/8 port power connector necessary at PC power supply
- LCD with resolution of min. 2560 x 1440 pixels
We recommend the following minimum requirements³:
- A current generation CPU with at least 8 threads. Intel i7 or i9 (e.g. i7 9700 or higher), multicore with hyperthreading (the more the better)
- Entry-level discrete Nvidia GPU, e.g. RTX3050 or RTX4060. Please note: The system currently is NOT compatible to the Nvidia RTX 50xx series.
- 16 GB RAM
- HDD > 1 TB
¹ Due to their technology, mk-EMV cameras deliver 25 fps at 1080p, or optionally 60 fps at 720p (signal transmission via fiber optic cable). The software processes up to 60 fps in Full HD.
² mk-motion supports your test engineer with visual monitoring – it does not replace them. Automated EMC testing without human monitoring is not permitted by standards.
³ The actual hardware requirements depend on the number of streams or pipelines to be analyzed and recorded. (As of March 2026.)
